Sansea Sparling- Nosara and Yin Yoga

Sansea Sparling teaches Nosara Yoga, a gentle hatha flow, as well as Yin Yoga, a deeply relaxing practice in which we focus on joint flexibility.

In Sansea's Nosara class, poses are taught with emphasis on breath, anatomical alignment, humor and respect for the eight limbs of Yoga. Classes include vinyasa flow, breath practice, the details and refinement of specific poses and hands-on assists--all set to world music.

Sansea's classes are gentle, slow--this gives you a chance to breathe fully and stretch deeply, as you build strength, stamina and poise. Long warming sequences set the foundations in breath and alignment; we move in a measured pace, each individual modifies the practice individually according to flexibility and age.

Instruction in pranayama (breathing techniques) teaches mindfulness while it increases vitality. Wear loose, layered clothing without zippers or buttons; we practice barefoot.

This class is for those who like to take time to develop a pose. It is also an appropriate class for those who might be recovering from an injury, or who are beginners. First we sit in a short meditation, then flow into classic postures; we finish in a quiet relaxation pose.

Yin Yoga classes take place on the floor and involve using lots of props. Muscles relax, as joints are rejuvenated by holding poses for a while, breathing fully. Watchwords are compassion and acceptance. Non-striving allows us to fold or extend into a pose, as each person defines the shape and extent of the pose, deepening hip and low back mobility. Gravity is our most important prop in Yin Yoga.
Nosara Yoga, which evolved from Kripalu Yoga when Don Stapleton, originator of the Kripalu Yoga program, moved to Nosara, Costa Rica to found the Yoga Institute with his wife Amba.

Deborah Felmeth- Yoga

Deborah Felmeth teaches.....For The Sake of God is a class based each week on one of the 99 names of God as spoken in Arabic! The 99 names, or the Most Beautiful Names as they are called, are qualities and attributes of the divine. Using them as foundations for practice gives a framework for meditation which underlies asana and pranayama and becomes part of the Samkalpa or intention for that practice, that day, that week, that strand in the weaving of life.

What are the Bars?

The Bars are 32 bars of energy that run through and around your head that connect to different aspects of your life. They store the electro-magnetic component of all the thoughts, ideas, attitudes, decisions and beliefs that you have ever had about anything.

Founder Gary Douglas

Learn the Bars-This exciting new healing modality is easy and fun to learn. It is a powerful tool used for creating more consciousness in your life. It could change your
life allowing you to create more ease and joy; at the very least you will feel like you just had a great massage. It is an excellent way to reduce stress.

Give yourself a mini retreat as you learn a new skill
Come with a friend and trade sessions or share your new skill with others as a new career. Learning to run Bars is a great way to help others clear old patterns that no longer serve them.

This one day course will teach you the points located on and around the head. You will give and receive the bars twice through out the day.

What does a Bars session do?
The Bars takes all the considerations, thoughts, feelings, emotions, decisions, judgments, and beliefs from any lifetime, that are electrically stored in the brain and releases them. This release occurs when the bars are
touched; it allows that stored junk to be released.
Similar to when the lights go out in your house and you flip the circuit breaker or trip switch so the lights come on: having your bars done allows your lights to come on. The energy of the universe becomes available to you
and this often results in more peace, ease, joy and glory in life.

Several doctors who are experts in biofeedback have reported changes in their brain waves, going from beta to much more relaxed theta waves in the course of a one hour session.

Access The Bars classes have been approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) to award 8 to 10 CE hours of credit for each Access The Bars class attended.

Callie Pegues- Living Yoga Kundalini and Asana-based Yoga

LIVING YOGA: Kundalini Yoga for enhancing your life and personal health. The great sage Patanjali recorded the first written teachings of yoga (sutras) between 200 B.C. and 200 A.D. They contain teachings for the body, and are a non-religious path to personal enlightenment. The 1st sutra says yoga is “the refining of the thought waves of the mind.” Once we relax out thoughts and
accept ourselves as we are, we can move forward in healthy and sustaining ways. The physical, mental and spiritual benefits go much further than improving body tone - it provides a holistic system of refining the body, mind and spirit in unison, a living practice we each build for ourselves..

This class is appropriate for all levels. We will cultivate a meditative space and return continually through the session - opening our bodies to the opportunity for healing on its own. Our practice will
enhance the overall vitality of the brain, spine and nervous and glandular systems, increasing our overall awareness and youthfulness. Muscle strengthening and release brings comfort and fluidity, meditation techniques develop our focus and connection, while deep relaxation consolidates our efforts, bringing all benefits of our practice into our body-mind permanently.
Clear your mind and return to your natural state of peacefulness. Release stress now and each day by learning to breathe well, energize, oxygenate, re-sync and detoxify your body. Cultivate physical health on all levels, allowing the body-mind to work for us. Through breathing, asana, and meditation, enjoy the vast spiritual and physical benefits of true yoga practice.

Sunday mornings @ 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday & Thursday evenings @ 6:30 p.m.
